Opera is widely recognized as one of the most expensive art forms to produce, due to the combination of the production aspects (costumes, sets, lights) along with the requirement of singers, instrumentalists and directors of a high skill level.  Opera cannot be performed without these highly trained specialists, and although our singers often work for no compensation due to their love of the art form and appreciation of quality performance opportunities, the remuneration required for competent instrumental accompaniment can often make producing opera at a local level cost prohibitive.  In short, opera is expensive!

Dedicated to maintaining a healthy financial state, Worcester Opera Works has from the beginning used our modest resources in a most careful manner, and a combination frugality and hard work has kept our company solidly "in the black" from the beginning. 100% of donations and in-kind support go directly to our company's work.

There are many ways to support Worcester Opera Works, the most important of which is your attendance at our performances!  Beyond that, financial contributions of any size are most appreciated.  There are also other ways to contribute, such as providing rehearsal space; donating fabric, formal wear or vintage apparel (including hats) for costumes; donating period-style furniture; providing storage space for sets; etc.

All contributions are tax deductible and we will gladly provide a receipt upon request. Please scroll down for more information on giving.
