Die Fledermaus

Worcester Opera Works presented Strauss' sparkling operetta at the Historic Warner Theatre at Worcester Academy (81 Providence Street, Worcester) on June 11 and 12 (8:00 PM) and June 13 (2:00 PM), 2010.  The production was fully staged and costumed, and sung in English translation.  The press release and poster (black background or white background) are available for download in our archives.    Joyce Tamer of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette spoke of "beautiful singing" in an "effervescent production," and stated that "the outstanding feature of this production was the singing" which she in turns described as "musically polished", "soaring" and "rich". Read the full review, and watch for a YouTube slideshow with photos from the production, to be broadcast sometime towards the end of summer.
